Greenlight provides specialized environmental due diligence services as well as in-house environmental program management services tailored to the specific needs of a variety of clients. Greenlight specializes in full service environmental due diligence, investigative, and advisory services from the property acquisition process through continued property management and operation and ultimate disposition.

Greenlight’s specialized professional management staff draws from widespread technical experience gained at some of the largest successful environmental and engineering firms in the United States. Greenlight’s key personnel have directly managed environmental services for numerous privately-owned and publicly traded companies, real estate investment trusts and financial institutions. Our technical staff of professionally educated and trained personnel provide a superior level of consulting expertise, with an extensive background providing in-house environmental program management for a variety of clients.
Key Personnel: Richard (Ric) Woodie
Woodie has over 30 years of experience providing environmental consulting services and is the founding member of Greenlight Environmental Management. He is currently responsible for overall management of professional, technical and administrative functions of Greenlight serving a client base located in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area and Mid-Atlantic Region. His wide-ranging technical knowledge and experience covers the spectrum of environmental and health and safety issues including environmental due diligence in real estate transactions, subsurface investigation and remediation, vapor intrusion mitigation, industrial hygiene, remedial investigation, design and implementation. Beyond technical knowledge and experience, Mr. Woodie is also responsible for management of environmental consulting operations including resource allocation, senior technical review of project deliverables, contract and subcontract administration, as well as wide-ranging financial and business development responsibilities.
Woodie’s diverse environmental background provides a strong foundation in management of a variety of challenging circumstances. Entering the industry in the arena of industrial hygiene, he progressed to transactional due diligence work and construction management and on to contaminated site characterization and remedial action design and implementation. This diverse project experience has provided him with a unique skill set best applied to management of a wide variety of environmental liabilities across large real estate portfolios including commercial/retail centers, flex/industrial properties, commercial office buildings, and mixed-use urban infill developments. Management of environmental liabilities for complete portfolios for a variety of clients has also expanded Woodie’s proficiency in other business aspects including budget forecasting, tracking and reporting of environmental liabilities under the Corporate and Auditing Accountability and Responsibility Act, and coordination of environmental insurance coverage and preparation of environmental claims.
He has also developed a strong command of the brownfields/voluntary cleanup processes in several state jurisdictions including California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and the District of Columbia working with developers to navigate complex redevelopment projects through the regulatory framework to permit anticipated uses.
Woodie has developed corporate environmental programs for a variety of clients ranging from asbestos management, mold and water intrusion identification and remediation, and corporate environmental liability management, and has designed and implemented corporate environmental training programs.
